At a bingo hall in Preston, located in England's northwest, an elderly woman collapsed in the middle of a bingo game, only hours after which she passed away. The woman suffered the attack the moment one of her accompanying friends won a £1,000 prize.
What ensued following the woman's collapse was the cause of some controversy, in that bingo operators allegedly continued the game as if nothing had happened. Additional players continued to issue their calls of bingo, only to be cheered on by the traditional "Congratulations" song played for bingo winners.
Nonetheless, players sitting near the woman attended to her and an ambulance was called. Ambulance crews arrived at the scene, whisking the woman away to the hospital, where she soon passed away.
