Last week, the Arkansas House of Representatives approved a measure to let voters decide whether or not they want a constitutional amendment to allow charitable bingo. Some state congress members voiced concerns that charitable bingo could pave the way for a lottery. Nonetheless, Representative Shirley Borhauer, the resolution's backer, reportedly promised that tight control would be exercised when drafting the legislation, should voters opt for charitable bingo.
Borhauer's support for the bill stems from her belief that charitable bingo would benefit state residents, with more money going to non-profit organizations.
