Online Bingo Debuts on Virgin Games

Virgin Games, billionaire Richard Branson’s winning online gambling website, announced its addition of Virgin Online Bingo. Branson held a launch party at the Roof Gardens in the Kensington borough of London, and released one hundred Virgin branded balloons. Bingo, according to Branson, is becoming the new poker, gaining in popularity.

Cow Plop Bingo Fundraiser Held for Upstate New York Park

German Flatts, a town in upstate New York, will be having its third annual game of Cow Bingo on June 12th. The event, a fundraiser for the German Flatts Town Park’s upkeep, will feature a special bingo “caller,” Martina the cow. Martina will be put in a special pen in the town park. The pen is sectioned off into a grid of numbers.

Brownfield Charities Apply for Bingo License

Brownfield Charities, responsible for developing Dayton, Ohio’s historic downtown Arcade, is applying for a bingo license. Brownfield Charities founder and trustee Tony Staub hopes that bingo will help bring in the money needed to cover back taxes of $120,952 owed for the five-building historical Arcade.

Belfast Bingo Hall Robbed

At around 10:15 on May 20th, players at an east Belfast bingo hall received an unpleasant shock. Two robbers entered the bingo hall. One man was armed with a handgun, while the other was carrying a baton. One man reportedly held the players at gunpoint, while the other looted the bingo hall’s money.

South Carolina Senators Debate New Bingo Hall

South Carolina Senators are arguing whether to allow a new 24-hour high-stakes bingo parlor in the Catawba Indian Nation Reservation. Republican Senator Hayes argued that the bingo parlor could be the beginning of more serious gambling practices, and pointed out that high-stakes video bingo was similar to video poker, which the state recently outlawed.
