At around 10:15 on May 20th, players at an east Belfast bingo hall received an unpleasant shock. Two robbers entered the bingo hall. One man was armed with a handgun, while the other was carrying a baton. One man reportedly held the players at gunpoint, while the other looted the bingo hall’s money.
Jim Rodgers, chairman of East Belfast District Policing Partnership, was quoted as saying that the bingo hall has been robbed before, and stressed that the whole community needs to be on the alert for the two men. The men were described as over 6 feet tall, one being well-built, while the other had a lean build.
