City Council members voted 4-1 to allow non-profits in Temecula, CA to operate bingo games. The decision came in the wake of the decision to annex Redhawk, a nearby town which raises money for the high school’s academic and athletic extra-curricular activities through bingo.

Nearby Pechanga Resort & Casino allows high stakes games, but bingo was illegal. Despite the fact that bingo was not legal, the local senior center has been playing bingo weekly for years. The law would regulate the bingo games and cap jackpots at $250 per game
