Last week, Gala Bingo completed a buyout of New Generation Bingo, operators of Basingstoke’s Club 2000, a 25,000 square foot bingo club, which attracted about 250,000 players in the past year alone. This £18 million ($31 million) purchase marks Gala’s largest ever purchase of a single bingo hall.

Gala’s Chief Executive, Neil Goulden, said that his company is pleased to be taking advantage of the opportunity to expand operations in the area, and to offer even more games to more players in the UK.

There are 167 Gala bingo clubs and 28 Gala-operated casinos in the UK, including the Basingstoke club. Gala has recently expanded to online bingo on the St. Minver bingo network, and is reported to be considering a stock floatation.
