This week, Casino San Pablo rolled out 500 new video bingo games, instead of the slot machines the casino had planned to offer. While the class II machines do not produce as much revenue as regular class III slot machines, they are nonetheless creating some controversy. Some claim that the bingo machines are really slots in disguise, allowed by a legal loophole which should be closed.
As for the players, they’re interested in the new games, but a lot of them seem confused by the machines. Players said that the two screen format is confusing. Even casino employees seemed confused by the new machines. The advice: ignore the lower screen, and press “daub” every time you’re offered the chance. Players were confused and complained that they prefer slots, but many also said that the electronic bingo was both fun and addictive.
