The Omaha Tribe in Nebraska opened its new Lucky 77 casino on Monday, August 15. The casino is what is referred to as a Class II casino, meaning that it will have bingo machines and bingo and lottery games, but no slot machines.
In addition to bingo machines and games, the casino will have a drive-through snack shop. Despite lawsuits by other tribes in Nebraska, the casino will not be able to have any table games, but will operate 50 bingo machines in lieu of slots. Tribe members hope that the new casino will help pay for social programs for tribe members, as well as providing jobs on the reservation. |
