Bingo and gaming supplies distributor Frank Moran & Sons Inc. is suing the Funkstown, Maryland, Moose Lodge for over $38,000, which the distributor says the lodge owes for gaming supplies that the club purchased. In April 2002, Frank Moran & Sons alleges that they sold the club $33,600 worth of bingo supplies, which the club was supposed to repay over 12 months.
The Moose Lodge was supposed to make the first payment on September 1, 2002, but the suit says that the lodge paid a total of seven payments, which added up to only $12,000. According to Frank Moran Sr, of Frank Moran & Sons Inc., the agreement stated that if the payments were not completed by a certain date, the lodge was liable for attorney’s fees in addition to the payment itself. Moran said that the Moose Lodge purchased gaming and bingo supplies totaling over $40,000 and never filed any complaints or returned any products. Funkstown Moose Lodge Administrator Mike Stumbaugh declined to comment on the case.
