Last Saturday, people had the chance to win a quilt at the Quilt Bingo games in White Stone, Virginia. The event was sponsored by the Tavern Quilt Guild in Heathsville and proceeds from the bingo tickets are to be donated to the Rice's Hotel/Hughlett's Tavern Foundation, Inc., which was created by the Northumberland County Historical Society to oversee a site donated by the late Mrs. Cecelia Fallin Rice.
Winners were able to claim a variety of quilts made by Guild members, and three bingo games were played to award special Queen sized quilts. In addition to the bingo prizes, the guild raffled off a fireman's quilt. Raffle proceeds were donated to the White Stone Volunteer Fire Department in recognition of the work the fire fighters had done for the event. |
