Littlefield Corporation announced yesterday that bingo operations will recommence at the company's Mobile, Alabama bingo hall, now that the city's electricity has been restored, and the night curfew has been terminated.
The Alabama Bingo Hall was repainted last week, and a new sign is planned for the building's exterior in the near future. The charities operating the bingo hall will hold a re-opening celebration, and free hot dogs and drinks will be served this Friday and Saturday.
The relatively low hurricane damage suffered in Mobile led partnering charities to believe that they will be able to return to regular operations, and might even profit from the loss of competition from neighboring Biloxi, Mississippi, which sustained greater damages during Katrina.
“We applaud our charity partners' efforts in resuming normal operations in the face of the challenged provided by the damage attributable to Katrina,” Jeffrey L. Minch, President and Chief Executive Officer of Littlefield Corporation was quoted as saying, “we will provide whatever support we can at this critical time.”
