Opposition regarding the granting of a liquor license to the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in California will likely refrain from further challenging the measure. Opponents have reported that they will not appeal the recent ruling, which allows the bingo hall and casino to serve alcohol in the neighborhood.

A decision made by the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control permits various alcoholic drinks to be served in casinos and bingo halls from 5pm to 2am on weekdays, and 6am to 2am on weekends.

Although opposing residents are great in number, they did not have their own lawyers on the case, due to an inability to raise sufficient funds. For the same reason, they have reported that they will most likely not request an appeal. Hiring an attorney could cost as much as $50,000, and with less than a month left to file the appeal, the chances of coming up with such sums of money are slim.
