October third marked the one year anniversary of the gruesome death of a Brierley Hill (UK) pensioner. Edith Johnston, a retired 73 year old nurse, had just returned from a fun bingo evening at the Mecca bingo hall on Brierley Hill High Street. The robbers tackled her in front of her own door, just as she arrived home, and took most of what she carried. She called the emergency care line, but collapsed and died from a heart attack at the scene before help arrived.
Although the Police treats this as a manslaughter case, no suspects have been arrested. Andrew, her son, still hopes that someone who might know something about those who did the horrible deed will speak out. In an attempt to appeal to those who might know anything, he begs people to imagine themselves in the same situation. |
