An eleven year old boy from the UK was sentenced to thirty months in a secure unit after having set fire to a Yorkshire bingo club while 60 pensioners were playing inside. This was not the only offense committed by the boy. He also set more fires close to the bingo club and burgled a funeral director after being released on police bail.
The boy, who has reportedly been fascinated with fire for years, stuffed some paper into a fan in the men's room and lit it on fire. When questioned later as to his motives, the boy reported that he was merely bored. Other charges against him included possession of Cannabis, five burglaries and criminal damage, to which he admitted.
The judge sentenced him to serve 15 months in detention, followed by 45 months of supervision after release. |
