It is not uncommon for charities to stage fundraisers by hosting bingo games. The staff of the Gala Bingo Hall in Wadsley Bridge, England, however, has taken charity fundraising to a new level – doing it themselves. The bingo staff decided to undertake a more active role in their evening activities and act out a pantomime to raise money for Children's Hospital in Sheffield, Enlgand.
To the delight of both the bingo staff as well as all the players in the bingo hall, the pantomime was a rousing success, taking in more than £500 in donations. These funds will be added to the £1500 already raised by the Wadsley Bridge staff to help build a new operating theater in the Sheffield Children's Hospital.
How can they top a pantomime? Well, already in the works are plans for the bingo staff to hold a charity sky dive as well as a 10K race, all for the benefit of the hospital.
