Bingo is going bilingual in Iowa. English and Spanish will be the languages “du jour” at Briar Cliff University's (BCU) bilingual bingo event, hosted by the institution's Spanish Club. At the bilingual bingo evening, which will take place on March 9th, contestants can enjoy bingo games in both tongues for $1 per card.
The Spanish Club at BCU decided that bingo would provide a fun and casual way to promote bilingualism and Hispanic culture, and to get university students as well as Iowa locals to feel comfortable in a bilingual environment. While the bingo players won't have the chance to win “mucho dinero,” the club does plan to award a prize to the winner of each bingo game played.
