In what's purported to be a sneak preview of a countrywide smoking ban in Britain's bingo halls, two bingo establishments in Wales are imposing a one-night moratorium on smoking next week. The Top Ten bingo halls in Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock, Wales, are expecting the move to be met with disapproval, but are going ahead with their ban plan regardless.
As for why the bingo halls are attempting such a stunt, it appears as though they wish to see how a smoking ban will affect the bingo environment. As a full ban on smoking in Britain will affect all bingo halls in the UK beginning in the summer of 2007, the Top Ten halls seem to be making a wise move to try and wean their bingo players off their unhealthy addictions. Ideally, they hope that bingo players will be able to have fun playing bingo without cigarettes to give them an additional rush.
