It was recently reported that a group of bingo players at Llangefni Football Club in North Wales escaped an unfortunate fire accident unhurt. Over two dozen players were getting ready for their weekly bingo session when, suddenly, they heard a series of explosions accompanied by a fire blaze coming from an electrical cupboard.
Witnesses of the incident reportedly said that, although the facility lost much of its furniture and soccer memorabilia in the blaze, firefighters managed to save the nearby changing rooms and the generator that powers the club's floodlighting. Despite being extremely startled, all of the bingo players were successfully evacuated from the venue.
The social club's officials, manager Bryan Owen and chairman Gwynfor Parry among them, announced that they intend to consult the club's insurance company and rebuild the damaged facility as soon as possible. Nevertheless, Owen was also reported as saying that the club's blaze and its temporary closure represent a great loss for the local community.
