At Scotland's Fountain Park Mecca Bingo club, bingo cards and daubers now adorn the mantelpiece of bingo memories. Indeed, this bingo club recently became the U.K.'s first completely electronic bingo hall. According to Rank Group, Mecca Bingo's owner, electronic bingo machines became so popular that since the company installed these devices at its Fountain Park parlor, the number of visitors increased twofold.
Rank officials were reported as saying that the new terminals provide players with an access to a wide range of portals. With its new electronic applications – including color and sound features – the game of bingo now allows players to interact on a different level and enjoy an integrated gaming experience.
Mario Vilela, the head of Rank's electronic gaming division, reportedly said that it were the gaming market's newly-developed electronic games and devices that prompted the company to try out a different way of playing bingo.
