It was recently reported that yet another Gala bingo hall in the U.K. fell victim to an armed robbery. Horrified bingo players witnessed as many as five balaclava-clad men with machetes and knives burst into Basildon's Gala bingo gaming facility and take an employee hostage.
One of the robbers grabbed the aforementioned employee and dragged him upstairs to the room where the bingo facility's profits were held. After swooping a significant amount of money, the group ran out and escaped the crime scene on motorcycles.
None of the bingo club customers or employees was injured during the incident. Det Con Neil Hudson, from Pitsea CID, was reported as saying that the ordeal was especially traumatic for the worker who was held hostage by the venue's robbers. An investigation on the case is underway.
