A Pennsylvania resident was recently placed under arrest for attempting to use a counterfeit $100 bill at a Shippensburg bingo hall. A bingo staffer at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center called police after receiving the fake $100. The 48-year-old woman was arraigned on forgery charges as well as for theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.
When police arrived on the scene and located the suspect, she claimed to have no knowledge of the deed in question, displayed a number of genuine bills to prove her "innocence" and was ultimately allowed to return to the game. After searching a restroom from which the suspect had allegedly emerged, however, police found more counterfeit bills.
