A 33-year-old student, preferring to remain nameless, recently took home over £102,000 in winnings from the Mecca Club in Drumchapel, Scotland. Her total winnings were divided between the £100,000 national game prize, the £2151 regional prize and the £212 club prize.
The second year community education student works part as an aid to people with learning disabilities, but was quoted as saying that the pay for such community work is paltry. Lucky for her, money is unlikely to be much of a concern for some time.
The winner's mother, a regular bingo player, is the one who actually registered her at the bingo hall. To show her appreciation, she has promised to use some of her winnings to take her mother on a cruise.
