Hair care tips
Are you taking care of your hair and your scalp?
As a teenager you were probably never satisfied with your hair, always spending hours fixing it and changing it. As an adult you have come to accept your hair and perhaps even appreciate it. It doesn't matter really if you accept or don't accept your hair, it still needs care as does your scalp.
Some have different types of hair, and scalp: oily, normal or dry. Some may need to shampoo daily, others every other day, others even once a week. You'll need to think about the water that you use to wash your hair: not too hot, not too cold, and usually using a mild shampoo is the best.
In fact as you buy and experiment with different types of shampoo, you'll probably realize that the more complicated the formula is and the more expensive the shampoo the less it does good in your hair. I think that simple, cheap shampoos that promise only to wash away the dirty and the oil generally do the best job.
I would suggest using your fingertips, and never your nails, to gently scrub your scalp. If you wash your hair every day, one shampoo is plenty. Be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly in order to get all of the soap out and then maximize the shine.
Now on the topic of conditioners, I do feel this is an invention of the cosmetic industry and if your hair is dried out and dull looking you have been abusing it. I would suggest a milder shampoo and washing your hair less frequently.
Give your hair a break from that blow dryer, those curling irons and so many perms. When you are kind to your hair, it rewards you by looking and feeling better. If you feel you like the texture and smoothness that a conditioner gives your hair, naturally use one. I also think the cheaper, simpler varieties are the best. Remember all a conditioner does is coat each shaft of hair to make it lie flatter and feel silkier and softer.
Now after the invention of the blow dryer, naturally the cosmetic industry felt the need for products that would take care of those harmful results of blow drying our hair.
Try giving your hair a break once in awhile and let it just dry naturally or you could let it dry naturally most of the way and then finish up with less time using the blow dryer. Choose a hairstyle that will let your hair fall naturally.
Some of you might have scalp problems such as seborrhea dermatitis, or dandruff. Look in your local store and get a product that is designed for these problems and read the directions carefully and this should solve your scalp problems. Remember to massage your scale when you shampoo as this keeps your scalp healthy.
