A Maryland resident and his girlfriend were both charged on several counts after being suspected of stealing funds from a volunteer fire department in Pennsylvania. Missing funds total over $3,200. Both suspects were members of the fire department and helped man the bingo games.
Charges include theft, criminal conspiracy, burglary, criminal trespass, possession of instruments of crime (screwdrivers), filing a false police report and receiving stolen property. Aside from the bingo proceeds, suspects are also accused of stealing computer equipment from the fire department, equipment which was later found in the suspects' apartment.
Both are out on a $15,000 bond until the preliminary hearings, which are scheduled for early March.
